Because I didn't actually need to write a whole blog post, here are some of my favorite things from the movie.

4. This scene where the first couple stumbles onto the family's property and there's a "Wisconsin Motor," do they exist, I dunno, but it was funny.

3. This cinematography SLAPS, I'm a big fan, it's great, it also kind of looks like Leatherface is dancing which I think is fun, and also helps keep me at the edge of my seat, even when Sally is getting away.

2. The father screams, "LOOK WHAT YOUR BROTHER DID TO THE DOOR" and makes large hand gestures. I gotta be real with y'all, I burst into laughter, and I don't know whether to say it was good or bad acting but it's one of my absolute favorite moments now.

1. THE OPENING. It's great, goodness me, I love it. The music and the visuals all underneath a radio show talking about some suspicious murder sets the tone of the movie and opens up this kind of liminal space of the movie, outside of reality, and helps us get into it. And when the music comes back later, a tad altered, fantastic. I really love it, quite a lot. It's less than 5 minutes into the film and there's already a bunch to talk about.

I think its funny that you caught the Wisconsin motor at the beginning of the scene supposedly Wisconsin's own Ed Gein was the inspiration for the movie. I also like that you were able to laugh at parts of this movie. I still can't but it seems like contemporary audiences receive it that way.
